FAQ (page 2)

How can I contact my campers during camp? You may send mail to them by using the following address: CrossRoads, (Camper’s Name), 2247 Little Piney Rd., Lowesville, VA, 22967. You can also write to your campers by e-mailing them at campers@crossroadsccc.com. Please put their first and last name in the subject line. Phone calls during camp are not allowed.

Where will my camper sleep? Campers sleep in unit buildings that are divided into four separate rooms or “cabins”. There are two upstairs cabins and two downstairs cabins. Each cabin has a combination of bunk beds and single beds and sleeps up to 14 campers. Bathroom facilities are located inside each cabin.

How is the camp food? Providing kid-friendly, healthy, delicious meals is a priority at CrossRoads. Many campers mention the food as one of their favorite parts of camp at the end of the week! Campers are encouraged to try everything, but options are always available in the unlikely event that they cannot find something they like to eat at a certain meal. If your camper has a particular allergy or special dietary need, please be sure to include this on your registration form. You may also choose to call (434.277.8465) and discuss a camper’s dietary needs with the Food Service Manager at least one week in advance.

Do I need to send adult chaperones? CrossRoads is fully staffed with trained counselors and other leaders. Unlike some other camp programs, campers attend full weeks at CrossRoads without adult chaperones*. This type of program encourages independence and challenges campers to try new things. We do allow adult volunteers , but these helpers are housed separately from campers. *Note: Campers that attend during Family Adventure Camp must be accompanied by an adult.

What does my camper need to bring? The packing list can be downloaded here . It is the second page of this document.

What if my camper leaves something at camp? Call CrossRoads (434.277.8465) as soon as you realize it is missing. If it has been found, we will mail it to you, but you must pay packing and shipping fees. Lost and found items are only kept for two weeks.

Can you be an LIT on High Adventure Weeks? Yes. The LIT program is offered every week except during Family Adventure Camp.

Can you send me camp information? Yes. E-mail tproffitt@crossroadsccc.com to request brochures or forms. Please include your mailing address and information about how many copies you need.
